Final Fantasy 7 Remake: This game is stretched out way too much. Chapter 17 especially was a total drag. You're able to save at any time, which is good, and the combat is fun, but some of the characters feel super robotic. I understand this is a remake of a PS1 game, and in that regard, the sixth of the game it's remaking is beautiful and way better than the OG gameplay-wise. So, FF7R part 1 is good, but not amazing or groundbreaking. Just a good game. 3/5
Devil May Cry 5: Epic. Killing a billion demons at once with stylish combat that feels good, looks good, and sounds good. Backed by only a few battle themes and a lot of other music, slaying demons with crazy weapons and combos is some of the most fun you'll ever have. Through the game, you play as 3 characters, each with their own moveset, and Dante is by far the toughest to master. You switch Between 4 melee weapons, 4 ranged weapons, 4 modes, 2 different power-up modes, each weapon with their own combos and moves for each mode. Once you figure out how to play him, you'll have tons of fun with every encounter. The story is ok, but nobody really cares. 4/5
Resident Evil 2 Remake: Masterpiece. I have played RE2R about 9 times so far, and even after all of that, I can still find new details and stuff to love about this horror gem. This is how a remake should be, and this basically set my standards for every horror game to follow it. There are 2 different characters with their own stories, and while they share most areas, the reasons for what they're doing are different than the other characters'. I recommend this game to anyone who wants to get into scary games, because this got me started with the Resident Evil series in general. HYPED to play RE Village when it comes out! (I'm pre-ordering it.) RE2 sits comfortably at a 5/5. Perfect game.
Blasphemous: I won this game in a giveaway, and I gotta say, this 2D soulslike is pretty good. It's a little too easy for me, but after you beat it the first time, it unlocks a NG+ which will destroy your soul. The main story is a little short, I forget how long but I'm thinkin around 10 hours, being semi-thorough. The bosses are pretty creative and fun to fight, albeit easy and somewhat scarce. Atmospherically, the dark tone and intense gore help give a much more oppressive vibe than pretty much any other game like this I've played. I like Blasphemous, and others who like Dark Souls will like it. 3/5.
*Cries in ten hours is a little short*
