Bloodborne is a FromSoftware game, meaning it was made by the same people who made the Dark Souls series and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Don't get confused, though, because the gameplay is altered enough where it feels completely different. Instead of hiding behind a shield and blocking all damage, parrying is an essential tool to survive, and when locked onto an enemy, there is a quickstep instead of a roll. This makes the game pretty challenging, and at the same time exhilarating, because the bosses are geared more towards always attacking, and allowing minimal windows of opportunity to heal. This does not make the bosses impossible at all, because once you get into the rhythm of dodging, parrying, and slashing, Bloodborne becomes a hell of a lot more fun. Combat isn't the only thing that has changed for the better, though, because the lore and world design is at full power here. The story is definitely clearer than Dark Souls 1, with more dialogue in cutscenes, and gothic scenery. In the second half of the game, the sky changes and so does the world, showing its true colors as a darker place than the people of Yharnam think. Bloodborne is a really good game, and with rumors of a remaster on the PS5 (which I doubt), you should at least check out the gruesome city of Yharnam for yourself. 5 saw cleavers out of 5. Also, the DLC is super good. I got it recently and it's harder than the main game.
Bloodborne's asthetic is super dark and dreary, mostly emits a feeling of dread. So cool.
