Welcome gentleladies, dudes and not dudes or ladies to the Mega Epic Awards of 2020. They would be called the Super Not Cool Awards but I don't care enough to make a new logo. I am excluding games I finished in 2021 after Doom Eternal due to me wanting to include them in 2021's year review. Now, without a long delay, here we go!
5. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville (2019)
As a pretty mediocre PvZ fan, I was disappointed by how poorly handled the sequel to the legendary Garden Warfare 2. As most fans were. A big reason for my disappointment is that the characters feel not too different from each other, and some small reasons are character model changes, not being able to go into a ton of matches before immediately losing or winning, and just an overall emptiness of the hubworld. There isn't a lot to hate about this game, but it's just not worth your money.
4. Fade to Silence (2019)
Fade to Silence is a boring game. Not as boring as Death Stranding, because that at least held my interest for maybe 10 missions. When I started playing Fade to Silence, I was bored. Almost at the start of the game. I collected some crap and explored a little, fought a few monsters, and I was just bored. NOTHING interested me. Not the story, combat, setting... It felt very uninspired. Instead of this just play dark souls or something with good combat.
3. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona PSP (1996/2009)
Persona is my favorite game series as of march 2020. So when I played Persona 1's PSP port, I hated it. I was used to third person dungeon exploring and turn-based combat that was "do this move, it is done before the next person's turn" and not "pick a move for every character to do, but you have no idea who is doing what in what order, and if you use a healing ability, the character could die before the turn order gets to you. oh also, sometimes they don't even do anything". That is literally persona 1's combat. Do not play that abominable garbage. But the story is good, and the PS1 version is supposed to have a better soundtrack, but I have not heard it for myself. One day I might go back to it.
2. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War (2020)
COD 17 is very uninspired. It is just the other call of duty games with new maps and maybe a new thing, but the multiplayer has BARELY changed since COD WW2. The campaign is pretty ok, but nothing out of this world. If you own Modern Warfare remake, then it's just added onto CW. Just.... STOP MAKING ANNUAL GAMES. Please just make new maps and add them to one game. I mean the zombies mode is pretty good, but it only has one map as of right now.
Annnnndddd the worst game of the year is........ 1. Sonic Forces (2017)!!!!!
Sonic Forces is MUCH worse than Sonic Mania, as millions of people have pointed out. I know I'm not exactly breaking the ice, but Forces is just.... ehhhhhghghhghh. EW. ehehehehehehggg. The character customization is just a dumb feature to try to make Forces seem like its own game and not fully just a retread of other 3D sonic games. Don't play this or you will lose 3 years off of your life.
Wow that is just a bad lineup of games. Now it's time for my special categories! But these ones are bad.
Dishonorable Mentions
Quickest Drop (stopped playing almost instantly) -------> Shenmue. I don't think I even advanced story
Most Forgotten Fad Game -------> Fall Guys. Among us killed pink
Most addicting bad game -------> Death Stranding. Why is walking addicting
Bought and regretted as soon as I played it ------> Star Wars Battlefront 1. BF2 became free for ps+ a few days after....
And that Does it for the official korogamerepic game awards! Sonic forces is bad goodbye
