Persona 4 Golden is an amazing game. The only other persona game I have completed currently is Persona 5. And I can wholeheartedly say these two games are almost equal in quality. First off. I have not completed ALL of the extra content, because it’s like 3 in game months longer. I have completed the base game all the way, though. So I’m going based off of that part storywise. If you’re into murder mysteries, like I am, you’ll probably enjoy this. Basically, there is a murderer throwing people into another world inside the TV. The game builds the characters perfectly, and most of them feel very real, and have problems that normal humans do. That is a big plus. Over time, you gain clues as to who is behind the murders, and the climax is awesome, where you yourself have to use your brain to learn who the killer is. It’s cool. One half of the game is life simulator, and the other half is turn based rpg, but it’s not too bad. Very simple. One of my only gripe with the game is that the dungeons are randomly generated, and persona 5 does them way, way better (because they aren’t randomly generated in p5), but that isn’t a huge issue. Most of the persona fans I’ve heard talk about this are like “the physical damage is so unbalanced at the end” and that may have been a problem on the ps2 version, but they must’ve fixed it in the rerelease. Which I should talk about. P4 Golden, the expanded version, came out in 2012(?) and was only for the psvita. Atlus finally ported the game to PC this year, and that was a huge money move from them, because dang. Good game. 5 TVs out of 5
